Equality, Inclusion, Anti-Racism and Zero Tolerance Statement

Equality, Inclusion, Anti-Racism and Zero Tolerance Statement

NCPC are committed to being an actively inclusive anti-racist organisation and to creating a culture where equity, dignity and respect are at the heart of everything we do.
We believe that every person – patients, families, carers, colleagues, partners, and visitors,  has the right to feel safe, valued, heard, and respected, regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion or belief, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, neuro-disability, age, or any other protected characteristic.
NCPC adopts zero tolerance for racism, discrimination, harassment, bullying, hate crime, or abusive behaviour of any kind.
This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Racist language, abuse, or behaviour
  • Discrimination based on any protected characteristic
  • Hate speech, intimidation, or harassment
  • Bullying, threatening, or abusive conduct
  • Online, telephone, or face-to-face abuse toward colleagues, patients, or visitors

Any form of racist, discriminatory or hateful behaviour is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Appropriate action may be taken, including removal from premises, reporting incidents to relevant authorities, and other formal measures where necessary. And if any such behaviour is initiated by any of our colleagues, we will utilise our conduct policy where this could be considered as gross misconduct.
As an organisation, NCPC is committed to:

  • Being explicitly anti-racist in our values, behaviours, and leadership
  • Challenging racism, discrimination, and health inequalities wherever they exist
  • Promoting diversity, inclusion, equity, and belonging across all services
  • Supporting, protecting, and valuing our diverse workforce and communitiesAdd Image
  • Creating environments where everyone feels respected and able to thrive
  • Listening, learning, and taking meaningful action to address inequity
  • Upholding the Equality Act 2010, and the principles of compassionate, inclusive care

We ask all patients, staff, and visitors to treat one another with kindness, dignity, courtesy, and respect.
Together, North Cumbria Primary Care and our member practices are building a safe, compassionate, and inclusive organisation that stands firmly against racism, hate, and discrimination in all forms.
We stand united in championing equality and inclusion, and in taking a zero-tolerance approach to racism, hate crime, and discriminatory behaviour.
